Bible Verse of the Week <3

1 Peter 3:15 ESV

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

Some people are being asked and teased about Christianity, and some people are being embarrassed, shamed. They get easily angry. But anger won’t help. It will just show that you can’t control yourself. But in this kind of situation, just count 1-10 and ask yourself “What would Jesus do?”

Honestly, if someone teases me about my beliefs, I feel shamed, and I have nothing to do in my defense, I go weak, and I feel like I have failed the Lord.

Some people would tell me, “Mary, you are such a religious person, just like your father”, I wanted to come up to them and tell them “Christianity has nothing to do with religion. It is very different. Christianity is your relationship with Christ. The Latin word from which the English word “religion” is derived means “to bind up.” Jesus did not come to bind us up in rules and regulations or rituals of devotion, but to set us free to be man as God intended. But I didn’t know how to, the mistake I did was, I got frustrated and said in a high pitched voice “I am not religious! You don’t understand!” and I know that was very childish, and I can’t use the ‘I am 13 anyways’ excuse, because that is unacceptable.

But I have learned from my mistakes…
