James 1:2 – Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials.
When faced by trials, we commonly ask “Why me, Lord?” then wallow in self pity instead of joy.
I’m not saying to rejoice because of our pain, we Christian rejoice in the middle of our pain because God can, and will, use our pain for our benefit and growth.
Then why not ask “Lord, what are you trying to teach me?” it is at this time we turn to joy.
When faced by trials, remember God’s promises:
1) He will NEVER leave you (Hebrews 13:5)
2) He will NEVER give you more than you can handle (I Corinthians 10:13)
3) He will ALWAYS meet your needs (Philippians 4:19)
Look for what He is trying to teach you, then you can rejoice. 🙂
