When Things Aren’t Going So Well

Philippians 4:8
Brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.

Its good to be aware of the negative things around us, but it is so much better to witness, learn, and understand God’s great plan for you than to find ways to bring the enemy down by your own strength. Stop trying too hard and LET GOD LEAD, because it is ONLY BY HIS GRACE that we are able to receive our salvation. Not by works, not by your own faith, but by God’s grace THROUGH the FAITH that He has given you.

Things might not be going so well for you, but I hope and pray that you will learn to look past that and continue to glorify God in the midst of your difficulties because it is written in Matthew 6:4 that when you DO GOOD, do it IN SECRET. Then your Father (God) who sees what is done in secret will reward you in full.

A Short Message From Mary:

Hello my lovelies, I know I haven’t been writing much, as always. There were so many things I had to deal with (both good and bad) that I didn’t find the right time to write. Well, that is both true and false (laziness). Anyway, part of the reason is that I’m at the Philippines! Aaand, I’m going back to Dubai once again. So fast right? *sniffles* I’m feeling mixed emotions right now. But good news! I have so much to write about! I just hope that I find the time to write it, hehehe 🙂 Man, God has been so good… but I couldn’t list them all right now or even then because there’s just too much to list. Anyway, I got to go spend as much time with my family and relatives (by watching a nice movie together) before we leave. I pray that you all be blessed by this post and that whatever you are going through right now, know that God will never leave you! He will be there for you through it all ❤ God bless my lovelies!

If You Had to Choose… Family or GOD?


Many people believe in Jesus, even satan himself believes in Jesus. It’s safe to say that some people may believe in the Lord but not all will inherit the kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 7:21). Let me ask you one important question, why do you believe in Jesus? What made you believe in Him in the first place?

Now the whole topic here is “Jesus or Family”. Many people believe in Jesus because they want to be together with their family in Heaven. This is true, and trust me this will happen. It’s part of God’s plan. But when you ask them, “who would you choose, Jesus or your family?” Who would you think they’d choose? Who would you choose?

Well, think about this, what if your wife leaves you? or what if your child dies one day? 

What if, everybody turned their back on you, even your loved ones? then what?

Who would you turn to then?

I’ll tell you one thing, the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you (Deu. 31:6). But now you’re angry at God, “why did you take my son?!” or “Why did you allow my husband to leave me, God?”

Remember that God is a Jealous God filled with love-driven jealousy. He knows you love your family dearly (and so does He)… but the Lord also knows if they’re preventing you from finding the real reason why Jesus, His son, died on the cross for our sins. Maybe the only way for you to really move on, is for God to take someone away from your life and bring in someone new. The God who opens doors also closes them, but trust me when I say, He has a very good reason to. He has a plan. Something far GREATER will come your way. Just trust in Him.

Also remember that your wife, your husband, your children, your siblings, your grandparents, and loved ones here on earth AREN’T GOD. They do not hold the key to Heaven. Jesus does. Your family NEEDS SALVATION just as much as you do. Remember that Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:35). We have to eat His bread and drink His blood BY FAITH (not literally eat Jesus) and eating is a personal thing, right? You can’t let somebody else eat your food and have YOU benefit from it!

Salvation is a personal thing. You can’t let someone believe in Jesus for you to inherit His kingdom.

If your whole purpose for believing God is for your family, then what about you? Lets say your whole family is saved, that’s wonderful! But what about YOU? God cares about each and every one of us. And I know its not really good to compare… but if you had to choose, who would you run to?

Your family… or GOD?

HALT! : The answer is God 😀 “As for me and my house, we’re gonna serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15) not the other way around. GOD IS YOUR FIRST PRIORITY.

Evangelism || Anywhere, Anytime, Anyone [God’s Perfect Timing]


Before I share with you my very first successful and filled-with-passion evangelizing to a 7 year old, I would like to explain “Anywhere, Anything Time, Anyone”, it basically means ‘do not limit yourselves in sharing the word of God’ but then of course there is also ‘God’s perfect timing’ and God’s ‘perfect place’ so I just wanted to clear things up a little just so you wouldn’t get confused.

Now to my ‘very first successful and filled-with-passion’ evangelizing-

God loves the little children

 Setting: In the Bus (a ride home)

 Time: Curiosity of the Girl

 Character:
 – Me
– a 7 year old girl named, Phm
– My sister, Gab

It all started with my pink bible that was given to me by my Pastor as a Christmas present, I brought it with me to school with the  sudden desire and hunger to read it everyday. I opened to Genesis 42 while in the bus ride home. My sister being a very nosy girl,  grabbed the book and read aloud. I grew irritated and made no efforts to hide it. Next to me was Phm, a young girl and a friend of Gab’s (my sister),

she asked suddenly “Is that a bible? It’s so thick! How could you read all that?”
I smiled at her, still irritated at my sister who continued to read aloud,
“I read it little by little” I replied to her,
“What’s story are you reading?” she asked,
“Joseph the Dreamer” I replied once again,
“Joseph the Dreamer?” she repeated with a confused tone in her voice. I smiled at her and carefully told her the story of Joseph- which she still doesn’t get but is very interested and intent in listening. She kept asking questions about God, Heaven, and about prayer. It was very refreshing for me to see an innocent girl her age get so excited and energetic about God.

“Do you know Jesus?” I asked her as it was the most important thing I needed to know. She replied, yes then asked me if Jesus and God are the same. I answered, yes. Then I told her more about Jesus and heaven, that He was the only way to go there. She asked me many things- it was crazy! I’ve never felt so tested, but by the grace of God, I answered every question with- a little thinking done- but with complete ease.  I told her how there were no tears andsadness in heaven, and she smiled the whole time. It was beautiful. I told her that there were many animals in heaven, and she grinned asking me if there were ponies in heaven and unicorns, then mermaids, and the like. I stared at her with laughter in my heart. Lord, how innocent this child is. She asked me where she could find Jesus if she and her family were in Heaven. She told me that she was shy, shy to talk to people. Then I told her that she shouldn’t be shy, especially not to Jesus. “Jesus loves you very much and He really wants to talk to you..”

She was flowing with lots of questions that I just told her “All the answers are in the Bible. That’s why its so big, because we have a lot of questions, and all the answers are in it. God’s words are in it”. She stared at me in awe, then asked “Who writes the bible? How could they write it?”, I told her that God spoke directly to His chosen people in the past and told them what to write. She smiled and asked a lot more questions like, “Are there gadgets in heaven?” , “How big is God?” and some that I couldn’t recall anymore, but in the end of it all she said to me with a smile on her face “Jesus sounds really nice. Heaven sounds nice too! and all the stories you told me about Joseph and.. Da- who?”, “David.” “… David. They’re all so nice- thank you for telling me more about God, Ate Mary”

And I couldn’t help but think how amazing and wonderful God is! And how He had used me as an instrument to share His word to this beautiful girl. Gab even intervened in our conversation giving her point of view and the things she read in the bible. When Phm asked, “Are there any gadgets in heaven?”, Gab replied, “No! Because in the Bible it says ‘Do not JUDGE or you will be judged also’ so no, there are no JUDGES in heaven.” That was just hilarious. What these kids can say and do… you shouldn’t really underestimate them. It’s really a blessing. Phm told me that she was gonna share this to her parents and I replied “Why not?”- my gift for her tomorrow… a bible.

Evangelism is a command and its a really good feeling to share the word of God to others.  So when do you share the word of God and to whom?

The Wound and The Stitches (The Lies & The Truth)

I lost a friend, with one lie.

I held it in ’till time flew by,

and guilt had practically drowned me.

I used to wonder, how she thought of me,

But seeing her so deeply wounded,

I have never felt so sorry. 

How could I undo a lie?

I failed, but I tried.

Now that the stitches had come undone,

The wounds still hasn’t healed.

Do I seal it in with another thread?

Or should it heal itself?

Lord, I have dishonored Your name,

Please forgive me, a sinner wallowing in shame.

I am unclear of what I should do…

Lord please help me, understand her point of view.

Help me to accept rejection.

Help me to fix what I had broken,

Teach me to be like Your Son, though I may not reach to perfection.

I am in deep regrets I must admit.

And when I say sorry, I genuinely mean it.

Childlike Faith || Do You Want to See Jesus?

One night I asked my little sister who lay with me in bed, “Gab, do you want to know my crush?” she turned to me with an innocent smile plastered on her face,

“Who?” she asked,
“Jesus.”

She scrunched her nose “But how can you marry Jesus?  How can you kiss Jesus? You can’t even see Him…”

At that moment, I started to cry. It was dark so she couldn’t see me. O how I longed to see the face of my Savior. How I longed to hug Him. I asked God, “When?”… after I had stopped crying, I decided to ask my sister again,

“Gab, do you want to know my crush?”
“Who?”
“Jesus.”

She started to repeat her rant “But how can you marry Jesus? How can you kiss Jesus? How can you hug Him?…”

“Do you want to see Jesus?” I asked my little sister, she smiled and nodded “Yes!”
I want to see Jesus, I want to hug Him and lie down on Him… I want to see Jesus when I go there in Heaven.”
“Someday, Gab, we will see Him. When its time. When its the right time.” I whispered to her,
“When is the right time?”
“Only Jesus knows..”

She closed her eyes and fell asleep. And I lay awake… what wonderful faith my sister has. ^_^ Be not childish, but be child-like in your faith towards our Father in Heaven…

So do not lose hope and faith, trust in the Lord. Live for Him until you see Him face to face, live to love Him, live to glorify Him… God bless!

01/18/14 Read, Eat, and Pray

We had a simple gathering with the Pastor and a few church mates at this cool pizza restaurant. It was such a nice and warm (well in reality it was really cold, but I what I meant was that I felt warm) outing. I had this delicious plate filled with pizza, a cool ice tea drink, and a wonderful book to read (special thanks to my Aunt Yen). The title of this book is “A Prisoner And Yet…” and in the back it is written “A Mighty Fortress”.

It’s a true story of this woman named Corrie ten Boom who experienced pain, hunger, harassment, humiliation… and yet, even imprisoned and treated in the most horrible way, she felt peaceand freedom. Just by knowing that the Lord is by her side, calmness surrounds her. Remembering how much Jesus suffered for the world. Nothing could compare. This book is simply beautiful, true, and uplifting. I recommend all of you to read this wonderful book! and if you want, you could add a touch of pizza and buffalo wings. :)
